About LaShante Walker, Ed.D.
Gallup Certified Strengths Coach
Dr. LaShante Walker is the President and Founder of Walker Vision Consulting Inc. Dr. Walker is a seasoned leader with more than 20 years of experience in education, leadership development, strategic planning for faith-based and non-profit organizations and business coaching.
Who am I:
I am a visionary leader, a mother, a business professional, a teacher, a mentor and a coach. I motivate and inspire others to meet their goals through self discovery and strategic planning of their professional path.
What is my background:
I graduated from Arkansas State University with a BA in Political Science in 1996, which led me into non-profit work and banking and finance. After several years of working in banking and finance, I transitioned for a short while into higher education and working more closely with a non-profit organization. In 2003, I made the decision to work from home to raise my growing family and owned several successful home-based businesses for seven years. During that time, I also became an ordained minister and gained a wealth of experience in the area of faith-based organizations and communities. In 2010, my learner strength, coupled with my desire to expand my work with faith based organizations, led to my pursuit of a MTS degree in Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University. My learner strength was also evident in my completion of the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership to obtain my terminal degree in 2015 from Lipscomb University. My certifications include Gallup Strengths Certification and Diversity and Inclusion Certification from Cornell University.
What I do:
I am an entrepreneur and educator. I formerly served as the provost at a college, and for nearly 7 years I trained, managed and provided ongoing support to academic units and faculty. Additionally, I have taught leadership courses for the past several years and began using Strengths-Based Leadership as a foundational guide to help students find their areas of strength to use in leadership roles. This positive experience of seeing students transformed by learning their Strengths and how they could be leveraged to help them become great leaders, led me to learn more about becoming a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach. I not only wanted to see students become great leaders, but pursued Gallup certification to widen my reach to help my colleagues and faith leaders within my sphere of influence become further developed in their role as leaders.
After many years as an administrator and faculty member in higher education, I am now serving full-time as an educational consultant and executive coach. As the founder and president of Walker Vision Consulting Inc., I provide executive level coaching, leadership development and diversity and inclusion training.
What I can offer you:
My desire is to share the Gallup Strengths approach on a wider scale to help career professionals, managers, educators, students, and faith leaders achieve the professional and life goals they envision by providing coaching services that will help increase performance and lead to the next level of success. I have successfully coached leadership teams, students, staff, faculty, administrators, and faith based organizations.
